Nicola Bulley Vanishes on Morning Dog Walk by River Wyre

Nicola Bulley, 45, disappeared while walking her dog near the River Wyre in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire. The mother of two vanished a week ago, sparking a huge search operation that has yet to find any trace of her.

Police Suspect Tragedy by the Riverside

Law enforcement believe Nicola accidentally fell into the river. Lancashire Police stated their “main working hypothesis” is that she drowned, ruling out any criminal or suspicious involvement.

“We believe Nicola was in the riverside area and stayed in the riverside area,” said Supt Sally Riley. “This is a tragic case of a missing person.”

Detectives have examined dashcam, CCTV, and doorbell footage, confirming there is no evidence Nicola left the riverside after last being seen. Her phone was found on a bench around 9:20am during a brief work Teams meeting, which ended ten minutes later. Police think she disappeared within that time window.

Heartbroken Family and Community Desperate for Answers

Nicola’s partner, Paul Ansell, described life since her disappearance as “perpetual hell.” He said:

“We’re never going to give up hope. However, she appears to have vanished into thin air right now. It’s completely insane.”

Her friend Emma White called Nicola “the kindest soul” and described the devastating effect on her two daughters, aged six and nine:

“They are the most bonded family. Those poor girls keep asking, ‘Where is mummy? How is mummy?'”

Emma added that Nicola might have fallen in while managing her dog, Willow, who was found running loose nearby but stayed dry. Nicola was known to be a capable swimmer, adding to the mystery of the disappearance.
