Chaos hit the M2 Medway Bridge this afternoon when police scrambled to rescue a man spotted dangerously close to the edge. The busy motorway was brought to a complete standstill.

Just after 2.30pm on Saturday, emergency services received urgent calls about a man in distress. Officers swiftly closed both carriageways between J2 (A228 Sundridge Hill, Rochester) and J3 in Chatham to prevent any incidents.
Man Detained and Taken for Medical Help
The terrified man was found dangerously close to the bridge’s edge. Police acted quickly, detaining him safely and reopening the road shortly after. He is now receiving medical attention.
