Arrests Made in “Red vs Blue” Schoolyard Feud

The Metropolitan Police swooped on a man in his twenties and a 15-year-old boy in Central East London at around 6.45pm last Sunday (March 1). Both were detained on suspicion of encouraging or assisting criminal activity linked to a worrying new trend stirring trouble among school pupils.

Social Media Sparks After-School Brawls

The arrests tie into a viral “Red vs Blue” craze spreading on TikTok and Snapchat. Students are rallied into colour-coded gangs, and after-school meet-ups have turned into violent showdowns.

  • Posts encouraged pupils to bring metal items like compasses and combs as potential weapons.
  • Schools issued warnings while police ramped up patrols across multiple boroughs.
  • Parents were urged to pick up their kids straight from the school gates for safety.
  • Section 35 dispersal orders were enforced to curb the chaos.

Police Keep Tight Grip but Further Arrests Unclear

A Met spokesperson said: “On Sunday, 1 March at approximately 18:45hrs, Met officers arrested two individuals in Central East London linked to social media posts promoting crime.”

“Both suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue.”

He added, “There’s a strong police presence around schools, especially at the end of the day. Officers are working closely with school leaders, local authorities, and parents who have been crucial in protecting young people over the past week.”
