Heartbreakingly, a woman’s body was recovered on the English coastline near Blackpool. On Thursday evening, Irish police confirmed it was Bernadette after DNA tests by UK authorities.

“Following the recovery of a body on the coastline in Blackpool on 14 February 2022 and confirmed DNA analysis from UK police today, Thursday 3 March 2022, the missing person appeal in respect of Bernadette Connolly, 45 years, has been stood down,” said the Garda in an official statement.
The tragic news brings a sad end to weeks of uncertainty for Bernadette’s family and friends.
