Three Girls Aged 12 to 14 Charged Over Teen Stabbing in Village Park

Three schoolgirls have been charged after a brutal stabbing in a peaceful village park. The victims and accused are all just teenagers, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Teen Stabbed in Whittington Park

On the evening of September 21 last year, a 14-year-old girl was knifed in Whittington, Worcester’s quiet park. Around 7:40pm, she returned home covered in blood before paramedics rushed her to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Thankfully, hospital staff confirmed she had no internal injuries. However, the attack left her with visible scars.

Police Launch Urgent Probe

West Mercia Police immediately cordoned off the park between The Tara and Clews Close. An urgent investigation into the shocking stabbing is underway.

“I know this incident has shocked the local community, and I’d like to reassure you that we’re working hard to understand what happened,” said Detective Inspector Sharon Wallace-Rathmell.

Three Girls Charged Over Attack

  • A 14-year-old and a 12-year-old girl face charges of possession of a knife or sharp object in public and wounding with intent.
  • A 13-year-old girl is charged with assault and is due at Worcester Youth Court on April 8.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorised the charges after reviewing West Mercia Police’s investigation. A court date for the stabbing-related charges is yet to be set.

“The CPS received a file from West Mercia Police and are now reviewing the case details,” a CPS spokesperson confirmed.
