Police Bust Massive Lockdown Party in Balham – 25 Fined £800 Each!
Raucous Rave Shut Down on Rinaldo Road
At 4.41pm on Friday, January 29, cops stormed a residential block on Rinaldo Road at the Balham High Road junction after reports of loud music and a large crowd. They found 25 partygoers crammed inside, flagrantly defying lockdown rules.
Hefty Fines for Rule-Breakers
The party was promptly shut down. All 25 were slapped with £800 fixed penalty notices for breaching Covid-19 restrictions designed to stop the virus spreading.
Police Warn: No More Excuses
Inspector Sarah Burrell of South West BCU said: “My officers should not have to be putting themselves in harm’s way by attending flagrant breaches such as this, but anyone who organises or attends such an event can be assured that we will turn up and we will issue fines.
This was a blatant breach of the Coronavirus rules that are in place to save lives and protect the huge pressure on the NHS.
We are still in the middle of a global pandemic and the risks are simply not worth it.”
