Wall’s has issued an urgent recall of two popular scotch egg products after Salmonella was found in specific batches.

The affected items are The Classic Scotch Egg and 2 Classic Scotch Eggs, with a use-by date of 02 July 2025.

Risk: Salmonella Contamination

Salmonella is a harmful bacteria that can cause symptoms such as:

  • Diarrhoea
  • Fever
  • Stomach cramps
  • Vomiting

Symptoms typically start within 6 to 72 hours after consuming contaminated food and can be particularly dangerous for young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.


What Should You Do?

If you have purchased either of the recalled products:

  • Do not eat them
  • Return them to the store where they were bought for a full refund
  • No receipt is required

Official Statement

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is working with the manufacturer and retailers to ensure the product is removed from shelves.

“Wall’s is recalling the above products due to the presence of Salmonella. If you have bought them, please do not consume,” the FSA said in a statement.
