Working smoke alarm saves Newchurch property

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been called to an address on the outskirts of Newchurch this evening (Wednesday). Two Crews from Ryde and Newport are on have been attended a property in Skinners Lane where a small grill pan fire has developed in the kitchen the detached house. Crews were called just after 6.30 pm Crews ventilated the property using a fan. Due to having working smoke alarms fitted the owner was alerted to the incident and called the fire service.
