Mother Expresses Gratitude Following Funeral of Seven-Year-Old Son, William Brown

Laura Brown, the mother of seven-year-old William Brown, who tragically lost his life in a suspected hit-and-run accident in Kent, has shared her deep appreciation for the outpouring of love and support during her son’s funeral, which took place on Saturday.

William was struck by a vehicle while walking on Sandgate Esplanade in Folkestone on December 6, leading to his untimely death.

The funeral service, held at St Mary and St Eanswythe Church, was attended by hundreds of mourners, reflecting the immense impact William had on his community.

Laura Brown expressed her feelings about the ceremony, saying, “I haven’t ever seen the church so full; it was wonderful to see – you could feel the love in there.” She further conveyed her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received, with countless messages and gestures of compassion.

The church’s burial ground, under a cherished chestnut tree where William found peace, now serves as his final resting place. The community rallied together to support the family’s wish for William to be buried at his local church, even receiving special permission from King Charles, as the church was no longer used for burials.

Laura Brown expressed her gratitude to King Charles for taking time out of his Christmas holiday to make this heartfelt request a reality, referring to it as a “miracle.

Kent Police confirmed the arrest of a 49-year-old man in connection with the incident. The suspect has been released on bail as the investigation into the tragic accident continues.

The funeral expenses were covered by a fundraising campaign initiated by Laura Brown, with thousands of pounds raised by a sympathetic public.

The loss of young William has deeply affected the local community, who have come together to support his family during this challenging time.
