Wickham Horse Fair Draws Crowds Despite Smaller Turnout
Horse lovers, traders, and revellers gathered once again for the annual Wickham Horse Fair in Hampshire. While the usual thousands have not materialised this year, plenty still took part in horse-related fun and trading.
Heavy Police Presence
Police were out in force, even blocking roads with vans to manage the event. Officers and RSPCA inspectors often outnumbered those showing horses inside the fenced arena.
Travellers Bring Horses and Spirit from Across UK
Travellers from all over Britain flooded the village. Some came with horses to trade, others just to catch up with friends and soak in the atmosphere. The fair’s long history remains a strong draw.
Authorities Aim for a Smooth Day
Police and agencies appeared keen to work alongside visitors, aiming to keep this year’s event safe and enjoyable for everyone.
