In a significant development in the murder case of Elle Edwards, Merseyside Police have announced that four individuals have been charged in connection with her death. The 26-year-old beautician was tragically killed on Christmas Eve last year during a shooting outside the Lighthouse pub in Wallasey Village, Wirral.
The incident, which took place shortly before midnight, saw 12 shots fired from a Skorpion submachine gun, fatally wounding Ms. Edwards in the back of the head. She was an unintended victim in the attack that also left five other people injured.

The police have charged a 42-year-old man from Wallasey, a 33-year-old woman a 54-year-old man from the Woodchurch area of Wirral, and a 33-year-old woman from Birkenhead with assisting an offender. All four individuals have been bailed to appear at Wirral Magistrates’ Court on January 15. Current reporting restrictions prevent the disclosure of their names at this stage.
This development follows the July conviction of 23-year-old Connor Chapman from Woodchurch, who was found guilty of murdering Ms Edwards. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 48 years. Mr. Justice Goose, during the sentencing, condemned Chapman’s actions as “utterly shocking” and “wicked,” highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the shooting.
Thomas Waring from Barnston, Wirral, was also involved in the case and received a nine-year sentence for possession of a prohibited weapon, assisting an offender, and failing to comply with a disclosure notice.
The prosecution, led by Nigel Power KC, stated that the murder was the result of a gang feud in Wirral, which had seen multiple shootings in 2022.
The tragic loss of Elle Edwards has left a profound impact on the community, and her father, Tim Edwards, expressed gratitude towards the police for their efforts in ensuring justice. He hopes that the individuals responsible for his daughter’s death will never experience freedom again.
