An individual has been detained and charged in response to an allegation of an attempted sexual assault in Eastbourne.
Police officers responded to a call at an Eastbourne location on Saturday, 11 November, following a report from a woman in her 20s concerning an attempted sexual assault.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Eugene Douglas, 36, currently without a fixed address. He faces charges including attempted sexual assault, actual bodily harm (ABH), and unlawful confinement.
Douglas was presented in Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 15 November, where he was ordered to be held in custody. His next court appearance is scheduled at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday, 13 December.
