Police are hunting four drivers who may have seen the fatal smash involving a teen rider and a truck in Poole.

Tragic Crash on Safety Drive Roundabout

Dorset Police got a call at 5pm on Friday 28 November 2025 about a collision between a silver motorbike and a DAF lorry on the Safety Drive roundabout.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene but couldn’t save the 17-year-old rider from North Dorset, who died instantly. Thankfully, the lorry driver escaped unharmed. The family have been informed and the coroner involved.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

“Despite the best efforts of emergency service colleagues, the 17-year-old motorcycle rider very sadly died. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time,” said Sergeant David Cotterill of Dorset Roads Policing.

Officers have identified four vehicles that were near the crash and believe their drivers may have seen what happened.

  • A black BMW 1 Series directly ahead at the roundabout
  • A white Vauxhall Astra in the second lane exiting onto Upton Bypass
  • A black Suzuki Swift taking the exit as the crash occurred
  • A white Ford Transit van exiting onto Upton Bypass as the lorry stopped

Sergeant Cotterill added: “We urge these drivers to come forward. Anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time should also contact us immediately.”
