A terrifying early-hours brawl in Altrincham town centre has left two people seriously injured. Police swooped on Railway Street after 3:20am Sunday, finding one man in his 20s with life-changing facial wounds and a 21-year-old suffering a serious chest injury.

Four Victims In Total

Besides the two badly hurt, a 51-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman were also treated for minor injuries.

Officers quickly arrested a 24-year-old man from Partington on suspicion of attempted murder and Section 18 assault. He remains in custody as investigations continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Dixon urged anyone who saw what happened to come forward. He said:

“We are appealing to anyone in the area to come forward who may have witnessed an altercation on Railway Street before a white male in his 20s ran down towards Altrincham Interchange.

“Please contact 101 or use our website, quoting log 484 of 30.11.2025. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Reassurance to Community

DCI Dixon added: “We understand the concern caused by this incident. We ask the public not to speculate. We believe this was an isolated event.”

He also thanked locals and shops for their co-operation during the police enquiry. Officers will maintain a presence in Altrincham town centre as the investigation unfolds.
