Predator Jailed for 8 Years After Using Facebook to Target Teen Girls
A man who tried to meet teenage girls for sex via social media has been locked up for eight years at Isleworth Crown Court. Mohamed Mohamoud, 31, from Uxbridge, was found guilty of two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of attempting to do the same.
Facebook Predator Targeted Girls Aged 14 and 15
The offences involved three victims – all girls aged 14 or 15 when Mohamoud contacted them online between 2015 and 2016. Using Facebook, he tracked down young teens and messaged them to get their phone numbers.
Mohamoud then tried to meet the girls in person, tempting them with drugs, alcohol, and promises of taking them shopping.

A vigilant secondary school teacher in Hayes alerted police after a 14-year-old girl disclosed the troubling messages. Police investigations revealed two more victims of a similar age who had also been contacted by Mohamoud.
Thankfully, none of the girls ever met him in person.
Cold and Remorseless in Court
Mohamoud was arrested on 26 July 2016 but showed no remorse throughout the trial. Instead, he tried to shift the blame onto others.
Detective Constable Mike Evans from the Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command said: “Mohamoud’s sentence shows how seriously we treat these crimes and highlights the Met’s commitment to protecting young people from online abuse.
“Thanks to the courage of the three victims who spoke out, this dangerous man is now behind bars and can no longer harm any youngsters.”
He added: “Parents can find vital advice on keeping kids safe online on the websites of The Met, Childline, NHS Choices, and CEOP.”
