Probe launched after youths spotted setting fire to trees in Sandown
A probe has been launched by Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue who are working with Police after youths were spotted setting fire to trees at Los Altos Park in Sandown on the Isle of Wight. The incident comes less than a month after when a fire ripped through the park of the forested area. Callers to the fire service stated that they had spotted a fire and witnessed youths running away from the area. One retained fire crew from Shanklin where mobilised just after 4.15pm on Monday, September 3rd to tackle the blaze. Crews used one hose reel and a rake to turn over hot spots.
