Superhero Saleem Syed Set to Gift Life-Changing Scooter Tomorrow

Tomorrow night, superhero Saleem Syed will once again make a difference at a special Covid-safe event at the Godstone Inn, Surrey, starting 7pm. He’ll present a lucky winner with a brand-new mobility scooter, restoring their independence and transforming their daily life.

From Personal Struggle to Public Good

“Two people have already received scooters, giving them back freedom,” says Syed. “I founded The British Mobility Project after seeing my own son struggle with health conditions.”

Back in the ’90s, such disabilities went undiagnosed and untreated. “Only in the last decade have people realised how these conditions affect everyday life,” he explains.

Mobility scooters can cost between £2,000 and £10,000. Syed raises funds by selling tickets and encouraging nominations for those most in need. Winners typically must be on Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to qualify.

Big Plans & Celebrity Support

Originally aiming to give four scooters a year, Syed says they’re now awarding their third tomorrow and might increase giveaways. “Our events are always packed with fun – we’ve had celebs like Sheena from House Every Weekend and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Chris Harvey joining us to keep spirits high.”

The night promises entertainment, food, and a big moment when the lucky recipient receives their new mobility scooter.

Real-Life Superman on a Mission

Look out for Syed in his Superman guise, often seen with his colleague Diogo Carvalho dressed as Batman. Besides these heroic costumes, Syed also serves as a frontline NHS volunteer.
