Londoner Caught Offering Dodgy Immigration Advice

Balvinder Singh Madan Admits Guilt

Balvinder Singh Madan, 40, from Southall, London, has pleaded guilty to providing unregulated immigration advice. He admitted the offence at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 7 October.

Unqualified and Unauthorized

Madan gave immigration advice and services without the necessary authorisation, training, or qualifications, breaking Section 91 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. His activities took place between 1 October 2017 and 24 April 2018 at offices in North West London.

Warning from Immigration Commissioner

“This offence is serious,” said Immigration Commissioner John Tuckett. “Immigrants often find themselves in a vulnerable position; Mr Madan demonstrated what can happen when unqualified individuals hold themselves out as immigration advisers.”

Sentencing Date Set

Madan is due to be sentenced on 28 October. Authorities are cracking down on rogue immigration advisers to protect vulnerable immigrants from exploitation.
