Police Hunt Man After £££ Cash Handed to Fake Officer
Investigators want to track down a man who accepted a cash drop from a victim duped by a crafty scammer claiming to be a Hammersmith police officer.
Victim Tricked Into Handing Over Money
The dodgy deal happened on 29 June 2021. The victim got a phone call from a fraudster pretending to investigate card cloning on their bank account. To “protect” their money, the caller advised the victim to withdraw cash and give it to a courier—who was actually part of the scam.
