Shock Rape Report Rocks Riverside Park
Just after 11pm on Tuesday, police rushed to Riverside Park following a terrifying report of rape against an 18-year-old woman.
Two Men Arrested in Connection
Yesterday afternoon, cops arrested a 30-year-old Southampton man on suspicion of rape. He’s now on bail with strict conditions until April 7 as the investigation barrels on.
Earlier, a 25-year-old Southampton man was also arrested but released without charge. Police confirmed no further action will be taken against him.
Ongoing Support and Patrols
The young woman is being supported by specialist officers who continue to stand by her side.
Meanwhile, reassurance patrols have been beefed up in Riverside Park since the incident and are set to continue today to keep locals safe.
