Nighttime Horror on Trans Pennine Trail: 19-Year-Old Woman Raped
Attack at 2am Stuns Local Community
At around 2am on Friday, 22 April, a 19-year-old woman was raped by an unknown man on the Trans Pennine Trail near Bradberry Balk Lane. The attacker is described as a white male, possibly in his 20s.
Police Hunt Three Witnesses Who May Hold Key Clues
PC Dan Morley, leading the investigation, said: “This was an extremely concerning incident and the young woman involved has been left very distressed. She is being supported by specially trained officers and an investigation is underway to trace the suspect.”
He added: “We are eager to trace three individuals who spoke to the victim near the 1 store on Bradberry Balk Lane before the attack. They include a woman and two men walking two large dogs. We urge them to come forward as they could greatly assist our enquiries.”
