Detectives Hunt Man in Ashford Rape Inquiry
Kent Police have released a CCTV image of a man who could help crack a reported rape case in Ashford. The attack took place just after midnight on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2023.
Underpass Horror in Ashford
A woman was allegedly raped in an underpass between Station Approach and Torrington Road at around 12:30am. Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate quickly launched an investigation.
CCTV Image Released – Can You Help?
The CCTV image shows a man spotted on Torrington Road near the time of the assault. Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber said: “I appreciate this is not the clearest image but I am hoping someone may recognise the man pictured or it may jog someone’s memory about something they saw that night.”
Police Plea for Witnesses and Footage
Officers urge anyone who was in the area to come forward. This includes residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam footage. Every bit of information could prove crucial.
