A major police operation has been underway after shots were fired in a busy Hastings street.
At 7.10 p.m., police were called to Theaklen Drive in St Leonards and a related incident at Churchill Court off Stonehouse Drive.
A firearms unit and the police helicopter were scrambled to the scene after one report said two people had got out of a car and fired a gun
There have been no reported injuries.
Please stay away from both areas.
While Officers respond to this incident, there will be an increased police presence says a Sussex Police spokesman.
One source has revealed that the incident took place at the Gym in the town.
Sussex Police in a brief statement said : “At 7.10 p.m., police were called to Theaklen Drive in St Leonards and a related incident at Churchill Court off Stonehouse Drive. There have been no reported injuries. Please stay away from both areas. While we respond to this incident, there will be an increased police presence.”
Many locals reported on social media that a firearms officer and a police helicopter were on the scene.
