Police Confirm Recovery and Offer Condolences

At a press briefing, Lancashire Police stated:

“Sadly, we are now able to confirm that yesterday we recovered Nicola Bulley from the River Wyre.”

Her family have been informed and are devastated. Police praised the public and community for their support during the emotional and complex investigation.

Family Issues Heartbreaking Statement

Nicola’s family released a powerful message through Family Liaison officers:

“Our worst fears have been confirmed today. We cannot comprehend what Nicola went through in her last moments and this pain will never leave us.”

“She was the centre of our world and made our lives special. Nothing will cast a shadow over that.”

“Our girls will get the love and support they need.”

“It saddens us that the press and public wrongly accused their dad, vilified friends and family. This is appalling and those responsible must be held accountable.”

“Last night, despite asking for privacy, Sky News and ITV contacted us directly to run stories about our family. It’s shameful and we demand to be left alone now.”

“Thank you to those who supported us privately. The community, friends, neighbours and strangers have been a comfort.”

“Our hearts break for others with missing loved ones. Keep hope alive.”

“Nicola, you are no longer missing. You can rest now. We love you, always have and always will. We’ll take it from here.”

The case has now been passed to HM Coroner as the community mourns the loss of a beloved mother and friend.
