A 55-year-old Huddersfield man, Mohammed Khalid, is set to appear before Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday 26 May, charged with 15 counts of rape and other serious offences. Khalid was arrested at Manchester Airport on 23 April over alleged crimes committed in the Kirklees area between 2003 and 2007.

Serious Sexual Offences

The charges against Khalid include 15 counts of rape, two counts of indecent assault, one count of sexual touching, and two counts related to facilitating travel within the UK to commit sexual offences. Additionally, he faces two counts of supplying Class A drugs.

Arrest At Manchester Airport

Khalid was arrested on suspicion of these offences on a Thursday morning at Manchester Airport, following an investigation into the historic allegations. The arrest was carried out by local police working in conjunction with other agencies.

Judicial Process

He appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on 24 April and was remanded in custody pending his upcoming Crown Court hearing. The case will be heard at Leeds Crown Court as part of ongoing proceedings.
