Baby Killer James Dean Clark Convicted of Murdering Infant Son
James Dean Clark, 31, from Warmley, South Gloucestershire, has been found guilty of murdering his baby son, Sean Clark. The jury at Bristol Crown Court convicted Clark despite his denial of responsibility for Sean’s death. Sean’s mother, Helen Jeremy, 27, from Kingswood, was cleared of any charges related to the tragedy.
Shocking Injuries Reveal Horrific Abuse
Sean was discovered unresponsive in his cot on the morning of 14 January 2018. A post mortem revealed a horrific picture: the baby had suffered 74 broken ribs and two serious head injuries. Medical experts testified that some fractures were old and healing, while others were fresh. The jury heard that Sean had been violently shaken just before his death.
Senior Officer Condemns Clark’s ‘Hideous Crime’
“James Clark is responsible for the most repulsive and hideous of crimes – the murder of a defenceless child,” said Superintendent James Riccio, Senior Investigating Officer.
“All of my team have been truly shocked at the lack of remorse shown by him throughout this investigation and trial, which has dragged on for over three and a half years.
“The evidence showed clearly that Sean suffered multiple assaults on separate occasions. We fought hard to gather the proof to bring Clark to justice.
“As his father, he should have protected Sean – not caused him such pain and suffering.”
Clark is set to be sentenced on 24 September. The horrific case has sent shockwaves through South Gloucestershire as the community grapples with the loss of innocent little Sean.
