Knife Attack Horror: Teens Jailed After Brutal Headlock Stabbing in Luton Shop

Teen Victim Attacked Inside Busy Luton Shop

Hasan Nisar, 22, and Amaan Khan, 18, launched a savage knife attack on a 15-year-old inside a Selbourne Road shop in February 2022. The victim was grabbed and held in a headlock before being stabbed multiple times after failing to identify someone they asked about.

Two Convicted After Week-Long Trial

Five suspects were initially arrested, but only Nisar, from Farley Meadows, and Khan, from Larkspur Gardens, faced trial at Luton Crown Court. Both were found guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article following a seven-day hearing in October.

Nisar was sentenced to 10 years in prison with an additional two years on licence, while Khan, a juvenile at the time, received seven years behind bars.

Knife Crime Falls, But Threat Remains

Bedfordshire saw a 14% drop in recorded knife crimes in 2022/23. Yet, a record 4,100 weapons were surrendered to weapons bins across the county last year.

Police Urge Community to Act Against Knife Crime

“These two young men will now spend the next few years in prison for this brutal attack that took place on a busy Saturday afternoon when lots of people were around to witness such an appalling act of violence,” said DC Sarah Warren, Bedfordshire Police’s Crime Investigation Department.

“The victim faces lifelong injuries. Meanwhile, this week another teenager lost his life to knife crime.

“Despite knife crime falling in Bedfordshire, the culture of carrying and using knives remains dangerously prevalent. We must all challenge it.

“We will continue to remove weapons and violent offenders from our streets and educate communities on the harsh consequences and penalties of knife crime.

“But we need the public’s help. If you suspect someone is carrying a knife, report it. It won’t protect them—they’re far more likely to become victims themselves.”
