Armed officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police, backed by the Royal Navy Police, stormed a Portsmouth nightclub in the early hours of Friday morning. Two police vans blocked part of the street, with additional vehicles sealing off Stanhope Road outside the Liquid & Envy club.

Witnesses spotted six police units, armed officers, and an ambulance arriving with blue lights flashing shortly after 3am. The trouble broke out as clubbers spilled onto the street following a sell-out performance by J Hus. Early reports confirm a serious incident outside the venue.
Mass Fight Leaves Man Hospitalised
Emergency services were called after a large group of men erupted into a violent brawl. Five males reportedly attacked a man who suffered a head injury and was treated at the scene before being rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
A group of university students described the chaotic scene: “There was a massive police presence trying to break up a fight involving five or six lads. They really went for it. One bloke even fell as he was getting attacked. It was pretty scary — we came out for a good time and ended up with a negative.”
Police Crack Down, One Arrest Made
Armed officers wasted no time, swiftly ending the rampage. An 18-year-old man was injured, and a 21-year-old suspect from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). He remains in custody as police continue their investigation.
