A significant fire on the A406 North Circular in Arnos Grove this evening has prompted a massive response from the London Fire Brigade. Eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters are currently battling the blaze, which has engulfed part of a two-storey building comprising shops and homes.
Traffic Disruption and Public Advisory: The incident is causing substantial traffic delays, particularly for drivers travelling eastbound on the A406 North Circular between the junctions of Bounds Green Road and Powys Lane. Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. The traffic impact is considerable, and it is expected to continue for the duration of the firefighting operation.
Firefighting Efforts: One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders is at the scene, assisting in the efforts to control the fire, which has affected part of the ground floor of the building. Firefighters from Southgate, Finchley, Hornsey, Tottenham, and surrounding fire stations are working tirelessly to extinguish the fire.
