Crucial Phone Found in Murder Hunt for Timothy Macdonald
In a major breakthrough, cops have recovered a Samsung mobile phone linked to the murder investigation of Timothy Macdonald. Detectives believe the device could hold vital clues.
Public Helpline Leads to Key Evidence
Last week, police made a public appeal asking for help to find the Samsung phone. On Saturday, someone handed in a mobile at Melton police station. After checks, officers confirmed it’s the very phone they were desperate to find.
Detective Inspector David Greenhalgh from EMSOU said: “We’re hugely grateful to everyone who shared our appeal and especially the person who handed in the phone. The public’s cooperation is invaluable and will help bring answers to Mr Macdonald’s family.”
Tragic Death of Timothy Macdonald Remains Under Investigation
The body of 46-year-old Timothy Macdonald was found in a field off Highgate Lane, Plungar, on November 7 at 3.30pm. A post-mortem revealed he died from a gunshot wound, with further tests ongoing. The murder probe is still active.
Family Plea: Privacy and Information Needed
Family of the victim said: “We are heartbroken and devastated. Timothy was a much-loved son, father, brother and son-in-law who will be deeply missed. We ask for privacy while we come to terms with this. If you have any information and haven’t yet spoken to police, please do so urgently. Thank you.”
