Early Morning Blaze on High Street Sparks Arrest
Kent Police were scrambled at 5.45am on Thursday 21 December after a fire broke out at a High Street property.
Residents Evacuated as Firefighters Tackle Flames
Officers and Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene. They evacuated residents and quickly brought the fire under control.
South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended, treating several people. A woman was hospitalised with smoke inhalation but others were cleared. Residents have now been allowed back into their homes.
Man from Margate Arrested on Suspicion of Arson
Police investigations at the scene led to the arrest of a Margate man on suspicion of arson endangering life. He remains in custody as enquiries continue.
