Burglary bust after stolen PlayStation spotted on Facebook

Between 7.30pm on 15 January and 12.20am on 16 January, a house in Pound Close was raided while the occupants were out. Thieves made off with high-value items including a bank card, a Playstation 5, a VR headset and an iPad.

The victims spotted their stolen PlayStation being hawked on Facebook Marketplace, sparking a police probe. Arrests quickly followed.

Officers raided an address on Burlington Road, Southampton, where the seller was met. Several more stolen items were recovered, including a luxury Canada Goose jacket.

Two suspects sentenced at Southampton Crown Court

Eryk Kacper Phung Van, 20, of Knox Road, Cardiff, and Lukasz Makowski, 39, of Cheriton Avenue, Southampton, were charged with burglary. On 4 July, Phung Van was sentenced to 14 months in jail while Makowski received a two-year sentence.
