Swindon Woman Jailed for Sharing Intimate Photo to Humiliate Man

A 25-year-old woman from Swindon has been handed a community sentence after admitting to sharing a private sexual photograph to cause “maximum distress” to a man.

The Shocking Photo Share

Natasha Bradshaw, from Fortuna Road, Blunsdon, sent a photo of the victim’s genitals to his girlfriend in July last year. When the intimate image was later posted publicly on Facebook, Bradshaw joined in mocking the man, aiming to humiliate and emotionally torment him, the court heard.

Crown prosecutor Abbie Winters told the court, “Bradshaw intended to cause maximum distress and humiliation.” Despite deleting the image from her phone and Facebook, damage was already done as others spread the image online.

No Harassment Charges, But Serious Emotional Harm

Bradshaw also repeatedly phoned the victim, but she was not charged with harassment. The victim suffered “incredible embarrassment and shame,” said District Judge Joanna Dickens. The judge highlighted the serious consequences of sharing intimate images and described the victim’s ordeal as “mortifying.”

Community Sentence and Protection for Victims

Bradshaw pleaded guilty at Swindon Magistrates’ Court to disclosing a private sexual photograph with intent to cause distress. Her defence solicitor revealed she is the sole carer of two young daughters and urged leniency.

Judge Dickens sentenced Bradshaw to a 12-month community order requiring 30 days of rehabilitation with the probation service and The Nelson’s Trust.

The court stressed the importance of protecting the anonymity of sexual crime victims, reminding the public it is a criminal offence to share identifying information.
