Motorcyclist Dies in Collision on A26 Near Lewes

 

A 33-year-old motorcyclist has tragically died following a collision on the A26 near Earwig Corner, Lewes.

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon at the junction of Uckfield Road and Ringmer Road, involving a motorbike and a car. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the rider, a local man, was pronounced dead. His next of kin have been informed.

Investigation Underway

Sussex Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. A spokesperson said:
“Officers are investigating and have appealed to anyone with relevant dashcam footage, CCTV, mobile phone, or doorbell footage from the area to come forward.

Members of the public who may have witnessed the collision or captured relevant footage are urged to contact Sussex Police via their website or by emailing [email protected], quoting Operation Ascot.

The section of the A26 was temporarily closed to allow emergency services to attend and conduct their investigation but has since reopened.
