Man Charged After Brutal Pub Brawl in Gosport

A 40-year-old man has been slapped with multiple charges following a violent clash at the Castle Tavern on Mumby Road, Gosport. The shocking incident left three people injured on the evening of Sunday, December 29.

What Went Down at the Castle Tavern

Police rushed to the scene at 7 PM after reports of a nasty assault. Among the victims, a 47-year-old man suffered serious hand injuries. Two others – a 46-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man – were also hurt during the fracas.

Heavy Charges for Joseph Lockhart

Joseph Lockhart, 40, from Haslar Road, Gosport, now faces a string of serious charges, including:

  • Causing grievous bodily harm with intent
  • Causing actual bodily harm
  • Assault by beating
  • Possession of a bladed article in a public place
  • Section 4 harassment

Lockhart is due in Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, January 29, to answer these allegations.
