Three Taken to Hospital After Car Overturns in Tivoli Road, Margate

One Man Arrested on Suspicion of Drink Driving

Three men have been taken to hospital after a car collided with a parked vehicle and overturned in Tivoli Road, Margate, on Wednesday evening (February 5).

Emergency services, including police, ambulance crews, and firefighters, responded to the crash at 6.23pm, where they found a VW Golf overturned and a Ford Fiesta with significant damage.

Eyewitness Account

A local resident, whose parked car was hit in the incident, told KentOnline:
“I didn’t see what happened. A police officer knocked on my door to inform me that my car had been involved. When I got out there, they were already leaving in the ambulance.

Police Investigation & Arrest

Following the crash, a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

“We were called at 6.23pm yesterday after a report that a car had collided with a stationary vehicle in Tivoli Road, Margate. Officers attended the scene along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Three men were taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries, which were not believed to be serious. A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and remains in custody.”

Emergency Response & Road Closure

Fire crews assisted in stabilising the overturned vehicle and ensuring the safety of those involved. The road was temporarily closed while emergency services worked at the scene but has since been reopened.
