Man Arrested After Dramatic Drink-Drive Crash in Margate
Three men have been rushed to hospital after a car smashed into a parked vehicle and flipped over on Tivoli Road in Margate last Wednesday evening.
Crash Chaos on Tivoli Road
Emergency crews sprang into action at 6.23pm on February 5. They found a VW Golf overturned and a Ford Fiesta badly damaged after the collision.
Firefighters helped stabilise the crashed cars while paramedics treated the injured. Thankfully, none of the men suffered life-threatening injuries.
Shock for Local Resident
An eyewitness whose parked car was hit told KentOnline:
“I didn’t see what happened. A police officer knocked on my door to tell me my car had been involved. When I got outside, they were already taking people away in an ambulance.”
Drink-Drive Arrest Follows Crash
Kent Police arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of drink driving. A police spokesperson said:
“We were called at 6.23pm after reports of a collision on Tivoli Road, Margate. Police, South East Coast Ambulance, and Kent Fire and Rescue all attended. Three men were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious. The 35-year-old remains in custody.”
Road Reopens After Emergency Work
The road was temporarily shut while emergency services dealt with the scene but has since reopened to traffic.
