Police were called at 1.05pm on Monday, 24 February, following reports of a stabbing in Hackney, N16. Officers quickly responded to the scene outside a primary school on Oldhill Street in Stoke Newington, where they secured the area and called for assistance from the London Ambulance Service.

A 54-year-old man sustained stab wounds in the incident. Although his injuries are not considered life-threatening, they are described as potentially life-changing. The victim was promptly transported to hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, authorities arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Police have reassured the public that no pupils from the primary school were involved or injured during the incident.
