Wembley Woman Dies in Horror Harrow Crash

Victim Named: Chithra Vanmeeganathan, 46

Detectives have confirmed the tragic death of 46-year-old Wembley resident Chithra Vanmeeganathan. The fatal collision happened on Monday, February 24 at 9:19 PM on Bessborough Road, Harrow. A car, a bus, and several pedestrians were involved in the chaos that unfolded.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

  • London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance arrived quickly to the scene.
  • Despite their efforts, Chithra was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • Two other pedestrians, a 12-year-old boy and a woman in her 30s, were hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • The car driver stopped and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, but has since been released on bail.

Police Launch Investigation, Call for Witnesses

Detective Sergeant Paul Jackson of the Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command said:

“Our thoughts remain with Chithra’s family at this difficult time. The investigation into this tragic incident is ongoing. We urge anyone with footage—doorbell cams, dashcams—or who witnessed the collision to come forward.”
