Fatal Harrow Crash: Victim Named as Chithra Vanmeeganathan
Tragedy struck Harrow when a horrifying collision involving a car, a bus, and pedestrians left one woman dead. Police have confirmed the victim’s identity as 46-year-old Chithra Vanmeeganathan from Wembley. The crash happened on Bessborough Road at 9:19pm on Monday, 24 February, and sadly, despite emergency crews’ swift response, Chithra died at the scene.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The Metropolitan Police were joined by the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance to attend the grisly crash site. Chithra’s family have been informed and are receiving specialist support during this heartbreaking time.
Other Victims & Arrest After Deadly Smash
- A 12-year-old boy and a woman in her 30s were also hurt and taken to hospital.
- Thankfully, their injuries are not life-threatening.
- The driver of the car stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
- He has now been released on bail as the investigation continues.
