Armed Police Nab Drug Dealer After No Gun Found in Car
Tyreek Rodney, 25, was caught red-handed dealing crack cocaine and heroin after armed cops stopped his car on Grafton Road, Worthing, on 9 July. Officers from the Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) and Tactical Enforcement Unit had acted on a tip-off that Rodney’s Vauxhall Insignia might be carrying a firearm. They pulled him over safely but found no gun.
Massive Drug Stash and Cash Haul Discovered at Rodney’s Home
A search of Rodney’s address uncovered a haul fit for a kingpin: 600 wraps of Class A drugs, white powder rocks, large sums of cash, and weapons. Rodney was arrested on the spot.
Rodney Pleads Guilty and Gets Nearly Four Years Inside
- Two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs
- Money laundering
- Possession of cannabis
On 8 September, Rodney admitted the charges and was sentenced to three years and nine months in Lewes Crown Court.

“Our armed response officers do much more than respond to firearms incidents,” said Inspector Robert Hart. “They work closely with colleagues to smash the supply of deadly Class A drugs tearing communities apart. Thanks to the relentless evidence gathering, Rodney had no choice but to plead guilty. A dangerous criminal and his drug network have been taken down.”
