Famous Winnie the pooh forest ablaze in Kingstanding

A large fires has broken out in a forest made famous by AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh novels. More than sixty hectares of woodland had been affected, and the fires spreading. East Sussex Fire Service have sent a number of resources and have called upon neighbours West Sussex after the major wild fire broken out at the famous Ashdown Forest after the blaze broke out just after 9.30pm in Sunday evening April 28th The blaze has taken hold and is progressing at speed. Members of the public are being warned to stay away from the incident. Officers from West Sussex police are starting to put in various road closures. At least 30 firefighters are at fire It’s understood that Seven appliances, a specialist Land Rover and a Command Support Unit have been called out Ashdown Forest was the setting for AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh books.
