Winnie the Pooh’s Famous Ashdown Forest Ravaged by Huge Blaze
A massive fire has erupted in the iconic Ashdown Forest, the woodland made famous by AA Milne’s beloved Winnie the Pooh stories. Over 60 hectares of this treasured forest are now ablaze and the flames are rapidly spreading.
Firefighters Battle Fast-Moving Inferno
The East Sussex Fire Service scrambled to the scene after the fire broke out just after 9.30pm on Sunday, April 28. The blaze quickly gained momentum, forcing emergency teams to call in backup from neighbouring West Sussex.
At least 30 firefighters are currently battling the inferno. Seven fire engines, a specialist Land Rover, and a Command Support Unit have been deployed to tackle the raging wildfire.
Public Urged to Keep Clear as Roads Shut
Authorities have warned locals and visitors to stay away from Ashdown Forest as the fire rages on. West Sussex Police have begun implementing road closures around the area to keep people safe and allow emergency crews unhindered access.
