Met Police Boost Patrols Across London Schools

The Metropolitan Police are monitoring the situation closely, working with schools across multiple London boroughs. Officers are increasing patrols around school grounds and vow to tackle any troublemakers head-on.

Parents Warned: Stay Sharp and Report Suspicious Activity

In a blunt warning to parents, Thomas Tallis School urged vigilance in a recent email:

  • Don’t share or forward inflammatory posts on social media – it could be seen as incitement.
  • Avoid any gatherings linked to these viral messages.
  • Encourage children to head straight home after school and avoid local hotspots.

Parents are urged to report any information via 101 or online, quoting Operation Cedarfield. In emergencies, always dial 999.

Croydon War’ TikTok Trend Fans the Flames

The worrying “Croydon War” TikTok trend targets students in Years 9 to 11. It hype-meets as hostile showdowns rather than casual social gatherings. Similar posts have surfaced in other London boroughs, causing a wider police clampdown.

“We’re aware of these social media posts and are working closely with schools to provide reassurance,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson. “Officers will be highly visible around schools at key times and ready to act swiftly against any violence or disorder.”

Commander Neerav Patel warned, “We’ve collaborated with online platforms to shut down accounts promoting violence or carrying weapons. Young people need to understand the serious consequences – arrests and charges could mean jail time and ruin their futures.”

Schools Prioritise Pupil Safety and Support

Thomas Tallis staff are preparing to support students feeling anxious amid rising tensions. The school insists that pupil safety remains its number one priority as it battles this chilling trend.
