A husband and wife have been locked up for nearly five years combined after running a human trafficking and prostitution ring in Aldershot.
Dark Operation Spanning Aldershot and Guildford
Wei-Gong Li, 45, and Yafeng Dong, 53, from Birchett Road, Aldershot, operated brothels at two addresses—one in Aldershot and another in Guildford. They transported women to these locations where men paid for sex.
The Serious and Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) kicked off their investigation in November 2023 after a welfare check at an Aldershot property found a lone woman amid lingerie and condoms.
Police Raid and Seize Fake IDs and Phones
Warrants executed at properties in Ascot Court, Birchett Road, and Bellerby Apartments in Guildford uncovered 12 counterfeit IDs, 10 mobiles, laptops, keys, USB sticks, and SIM cards.
Financial detectives revealed suspicious cash deposits totalling £182,385 with no clear lawful source. Phone records showed the pair managed brothels, coordinated payments, and shuttled women between addresses.
Guilty Pleas and Harsh Sentences
Li pleaded guilty to controlling prostitution for gain, facilitating travel for exploitation, possessing and converting criminal property, and more.
Dong admitted to similar charges, including controlling prostitution and handling criminal proceeds.
On Friday, 13 March at Winchester Crown Court, Li was sentenced to two years and one month behind bars. Dong received two years and eight months.
