TikTok and Visa team up to launch brand-new Creator Card for UK influencers! The new debit card is designed to speed up cash flow and separate business earnings from personal cash, tackling a major headache for content creators making money online.
Say Goodbye to Payment Woes
The Creator Card, now rolling out across Britain after a soft launch, targets the booming army of TikTok creators who earn through live streams, brand deals, affiliate links, and promos. Unlike a steady salary, social media income drops in unpredictable bursts. This card is here to fix that. Research by Visa and Censuswide, surveying 1,000 pro content creators, revealed the financial struggles firsthand:
- 49% said late or inconsistent payments hurt their business
- 40% turned down gigs because of cash flow issues
- Over a third suffered stress or anxiety from payment delays
Keep Business and Personal Cash Separate
A whopping 94% of creators want to separate their personal and business money – but most still use personal bank accounts for their earnings. The Creator Card changes that. TikTok Live lets creators with 1,000+ followers stream and earn virtual gifts, which convert into cash. Combine that with brand deals and sponsorships, and you’ve got unstable, multiple income streams that need smarter money management.
Empowering the Digital Hustler Generation
Lucy Demery, Visa’s senior VP for Europe, said the card will “empower the next generation of entrepreneurs in the digital economy,” giving creators quick access to spend, plan and reinvest in their businesses without the wait. Paula D’Urbano, TikTok Live’s UK and Ireland head, added the partnership will help creators “turn their passion into a sustainable career.”
A Booming Market Worth Billions
The launch comes as the creator economy explodes. Visa estimates some 200 million content creators worldwide, with the sector projected to hit around £370 billion by 2027.
- 85% of creators earn up to £74,000 a year
- 95% regularly work with brand partnerships
- 77% promote products or services monthly
The Creator Card is the financial boost many digital stars have been waiting for.
