Ryan Kelly and his former partner, Joanne Shaw died in a grenade explosion at a property in Bristol after months of reported harassment. Police had been involved prior to the attack, which also injured three others and shocked the local community.
Harassment Ends In Tragedy
Kelly arrived at Shaw’s home, where she lived with her parents, armed with a grenade. Shaw had separated from Kelly and reported his persistent harassment to police before the attack.
Neighbour Witnesses Explosion
Local resident Stuart Blanchard heard shouting before the blast, recalling, “I heard ‘get out, get out’ during breakfast but didn’t intervene as disturbances are frequent.” He said the explosion shook his door, later learning it was caused by a grenade.
Emergency Services Swift Response
Emergency crews arrived rapidly following calls made before the blast. Witnesses saw police trying CPR on Shaw before explosives officers evacuated the area amid concerns about further devices. The impact continues to affect nearby residents.
Kelly’s Criminal History Uncovered
Kelly previously served five years for conspiracy to supply cocaine tied to a Bristol-based crystal meth operation nicknamed “Breaking Bad-style.” The ring was reportedly run from prison by George Roberts, aged 78, and involved a self-taught chemist manufacturing the drugs.
