Police have named and pictured a 77-year-old man who died following a collision in an Aldi car park in Brighouse earlier this month.

David Bush, 77, suffered serious life-threatening injuries after a Toyota Prius was involved in a collision with a pedestrian in the Aldi car park on Halifax Road, Brighouse.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 12.55pm on Thursday, 6 August.

Mr Bush was taken to hospital following the collision but, despite treatment, sadly died on Monday, 17 August.

His family have asked for privacy following his death.

 

 

Paying tribute to him, they said:

“David was a much-loved husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed dearly by those knew him.”

Man arrested as police continue investigation

A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the collision.

He has since been released on bail while police enquiries continue.

Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing for witnesses.

Police particularly want to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or who may have dashcam footage that could assist the investigation.
