A body has been found in the search for a missing 31-year-old man from Poole, police have confirmed.

Daniel, 31, was reported missing after he was last seen at around midnight on Tuesday, 18 August 2026.

Dorset Police launched extensive searches for him, with officers being assisted by HM Coastguard and Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR).

At around 2pm on Friday, 21 August, police received a report that the body of a man had been found in the water near Lake Pier in Poole.

While formal identification had not been completed when police issued their statement, Dorset Police said the body is believed to be Daniel.

His family has been informed.

Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A Dorset Police statement said:

“Our thoughts are with Daniel’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time.”

The discovery followed several days of searches involving police, coastguard personnel and volunteer search-and-rescue teams.

Dorset Police officially announced the discovery on Friday, 21 August.

The date circulating on some social-media posts stating that Daniel’s body was found on Tuesday, 18 August is incorrect. Police say Daniel was last seen on 18 August and the body was discovered on Friday, 21 August.
