A 31-year-old man, Elton Dalliu, has pleaded guilty to supplying Class A and B drugs after police stopped him while riding an e-bike in Hove wearing a food delivery backpack.
Sussex Police were on patrol in New Church Road, Hove, on 12 August when they spotted the rider. Officers had received information suggesting he was involved in drug dealing while posing as a food delivery rider.
Officers attempted to stop him at the junction with Blatchington Road but he tried to flee. He was stopped nearby and searched.
During the search, police seized Class A and B drugs along with cash.
A subsequent search of an address linked to the e-bike rider uncovered further drugs and cash as part of the investigation.
Dalliu appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 13 August and was charged with two counts of possessing a Class A drug with intent to supply and two counts of possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply.
The court record listed cocaine and MDMA, both Class A drugs, together with ketamine and cannabis, which are Class B drugs.
Dalliu was remanded in custody following his appearance at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
He appeared at Lewes Crown Court on 10 September, where he pleaded guilty to all four offences.
Dalliu is due to be sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on 8 October.
Sussex Police said the investigation followed information received about suspected drug dealing in the Hove area, with officers subsequently stopping the man while he was using an e-bike and wearing a food delivery backpack.
