The victims described sustained abuse taking place from the early 2000s for more than 10 years. They came forward to report his crimes as adults but were children and teenagers when the offences took place.

A man is facing a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of attempting to murder a man in Southend
The victim, a man in his 20s, had been walking with friends on the bridge between Station Road and Valkyrie Road in Westcliff shortly after midnight on 30 October 2021 when he was approached by a man wearing a balaclava. The man said something to the victim before stabbing him.

A man who sexually abused four children over the course of nearly 20 years has been jailed thanks to work by specialist officers
Matthew Rivett was convicted of 28 offences in November last year, including multiple counts of rape and assault by penetration, following a trial at Basildon Crown Court. He had sexually abused four children in Pitsea and Canvey Island between 2002 and 2019.
